Georgetown sophomore Hollis Thompson has entered his name in the NBA draft.

The school said Friday that Thompson is not hiring an agent, which would make him eligible to return if he withdraws his name from draft consideration by May 8.

Texas sophomore Jordan Hamilton and freshmen Tristan Thompson and Cory Joseph have declared themselves eligible for the 2011 NBA Draft, the UT basketball program announced Friday.

Hamilton plans to hire an agent and forego his final two seasons of collegiate eligibility, but Thompson and Joseph will not, which means they may retain their eligibility if they withdraw their names by May 8.

Alec Burks to Leave Colorado for NBA Draft

Alec Burks has been called the most talented Colorado men's basketball player since Chauncey Billups. And like Billups, Burks will give up his final two years of eligibility to declare for the NBA draft.

Burks, a 6-foot-6 shooting guard, said today he will leave the school to turn pro.

"I was really excited about coming back (to CU) until yesterday," Burks said. "I wasn't ready to give up the college experience. But I talked to a lot of people.

"I thought about (the possibility of an NBA owners) lockout," Burks said. "But it's a risk-reward. The NBA has been a dream of mine."

Tristan Thompson, who was a relentless offensive rebounder and shot-blocker for the Longhorns last season, will not return to Texas for his sophomore season and instead will make himself eligible for the NBA Draft, a source close to his family said.

Kentucky freshmen Terrence Jones, Brandon Knight and junior DeAndre Liggins are heading to the NBA. Maybe.

The school announced Wednesday all three players have declared for the NBA draft but will not sign with an agent, clearing the way for them to return to school next fall if they change their mind by May 8.

"Playing in the NBA has always been a dream of mine and this is the next step," Knight said. "All season long coach has been tutoring me on the fine points of being a point guard, and now I have an opportunity to put my game on display in front of NBA scouts as a result of my hard work."

"Growing up in a tough environment in Chicago, it's a pleasure to have an opportunity to do something special," said Liggins, who welcomed his first child during the season. Doron Lamb to Return to Kentucky

University of Kentucky guard Doron Lamb will return for his sophomore season and will not submit his name for NBA draft evaluation, the school announced Tuesday.

UK coach John Calipari said last week that he did not expect Lamb to enter the draft, but said it would be "fine" if he opted to do so.

"Last season was an unbelievable run for me and my teammates, winning the SEC Tournament and advancing to the Final Four," Lamb said in a release. "Losing the last game against UConn was tough, and I don't want to end my college career with that feeling.

"With the guys we have coming in next year, I know we have the talent to make another run at a national title. I want to help bring a national championship back to the Big Blue Nation because I know they've been waiting too long. I've enjoyed my time at Kentucky, playing for Coach Cal and his staff and I'm not ready for it to end."

"I've had a great time at this institution, (but) I think I'm ready to play at the next level," Thompson said in a news conference.

University of Louisville forward Terrence Jennings will declare for the NBA Draft, but not sign with an agent, head coach Rick Pitino confirmed Wednesday.

Pitino said he encouraged Jennings, a 6-foot-9 forward who started 23 games as a junior last season, to get a feel for the NBA Draft process. But ultimately, Pitino said he expects Jennings will be back for his senior season.
